09-20-08 Hong Kong, China

Hong Kong, China. Final days in Hong Kong and my cousin Michelle invited us out for a Friday night in Lam Kwai Fong. Completely insane and a lot more wild than I remembered it: a truly cosmopolitain drink-fest with folks from all over the planet meeting in one place to patake in pure debauchery. Obviously, the red face was out in vengence for many weeks of sobriety shared among my peoples who have not learned about tagament.

One thing about Hong Kong is the prepopderance of "clubs" and other exclusive associations. They have "drinking clubs" where you have to be a member to be at a specific bar, in addition to the typical country clubs et al. It makes sense in a way - there are just masses of people in HK and within a confined space, it's good to be able to call a certain place a santuary, even if it does cost a pretty HKD in order to do so.

Meanwhile, we take a flight out to Beijing from Hong Kong, where we finally get to stay in a 4/5 star hotel after "slummin it" in some pretty down to earth digs.
