Happy Birthday to Mom Lee! While my parents were celebrating my mom's birthday in Napa, Kathleen and I enjoyed a great first evening in Greece in the city of Athens. After unloading our packs, for the first time since embarking on the 'epic journey' we hit the hotel pool. Two beers later amdist 90 degree + mediterranean sun, we emmerged an hour later refreshed. We spent the evening in the port of Athens, where we enjoyed a nice greek seafood dinner accompanied by some chardonnay grown locally.

The port town reminded us of Puerto Banus in Spain, a trendy, yupee and otherwise high end strip next to the marina that housed euro music sprinked with traditional greece as well as top 40s. This is certainly a n excellent _vacation_ destination yet not quite a trecker's location. Expensive to get there, to stay there and get out of there - but needless to say, the mediterranean breeze in the moonlit midnight was certainly well welcomed. And a nice dinner was in store after a day of travelling on to-go and airplane food, embarked after only 3.5 hours of sleep.

We have a lot to update on and apologies for the lag time. There are some serial processes that require coordination on Kathleen and my part so our goal is to update pictorially semi-monthly.
