Mont St Michel is a monestary built atop a unique island that is an island at high tied but contiguous at low tide. It is said that hundreds of pilgrims had died during their voyage to the mont prior to the building of a causaway that enabled safe pasage. Surrounding the mont is sand, which can quickly become quicksand once the tide runs in. The above pictures: Kathleen enjoying her Salad Gourmande, aka salad with gizzards, cured duck breast and sometimes, fois gras de canard. The mont was pretty amazing. We enjoyed writing the sand. Not pictured, is "Redrum" written backwards. As we finished and took off, a few confused Germany tourists tried to make sense of our message.
