07-30-08 Loire Valley, France

Loire Valley, France, aka quintesential French countryside. Here we saw four different Chateaus. The only one I remember, is Chambord, because there is a liquor named after it. It's that rasberry liquor they put in champagne to make girls giggle and feel super for drinking champaign. Oh yeah, there is also Cheverny which is home to over 200 hunting hounds and we saw them feast on meat. Yes, all pictures are of Kathleen as I am/was still high on the new L-series wide-angle lense so of coures I would showcase its capabilities! The chateaus were pretty much nutzos. All form but actually very little function. Unlike the castles of Germany, these chateaus clearly showcased a life of leisure and art, despite being centers for government back in the day, did not seem to offer much for security [and in present day energy/economic security as an extension of the military] features.
